The Fairytale Retelling Challenge hosted by Mel @ The Daily Prophecy.
I aimed to read 10-15 Fairytale Retellings by the end of 2015 and so far I have read a whopping zero. I have books that I could read for this, I just don't seem to reach for them. I think that I'll have to set aside a month just for reading some retellings and that'll get me in the swing of things. Or maybe you should bully me into reading them, that could work.
The Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge hosted by The Book Vixen.
Dive Into Diversity 2015 hosted by Reading Wishes and Rather Be Reading.
The goal of this challenge is to read as many diverse books as you can and so far I've read two books that fit into this category. I really enjoyed both of these books so I'm looking forward to continuing on with more diverse books.
The New Authors Reading Challenge hosted by Literary Escapism.
The goal that I set myself for this challenge was to read 25 authors that I haven't read before. I thought it'd be an easier challenge to complete but since a lot of the books that I've read so far are companions or sequels etc, it's been a lot harder than expected. I've read 7 new authors so far this year so I think that I'm doing quite well. (I'm going to include pictures of the books instead of the authors)
The 105 Reading Challenge hosted by ReadWriteLove28.
The main goal of this challenge is to read 105 books that fit within categories that you choose. I haven't manage to read any books for some of the categories yet but I've covered a few of my bases. I've read a total of 17 books so far this year which leaves me a long way to go but hopefully I'll be able to do it.
14 - This category is my 'Whim Reads' category which is for all of the books I read that don't really fit into any other category. I've read two books for this category already.
13 - New To Me Authors. Again, I've read two books for this category.
12 - Is Contemporary Romances. The total number of this category so far is two.
11 - I've read three books that fit into the sequel category. The category is called 'Sequels' but really just means 'any books that aren't the first in the series'.
9 - For my Diverse category I've only read two books, but hopefully that will be rectified very soon.
8 - This category is Debut Novels from any year. So far I've read two books that can fit into this category.
7 - I have to read seven mysteries for this category and so far I have read two very good mysteries.
6 - I had to have a New Adult category, to fill my sexy angst-filled romance needs. I've read one book towards this category.
I will gladly bully you into reading Winterspell! It's seductive and feminist and I think you would LOVE it :D
ReplyDeleteand inspired by The Nutcracker which is all I need! Those three things combined and you can bet your ass it's just been added to be tbr list. I'm excited! Thanks for the rec, Kayla! <3
DeleteThere are so many here that I havent read omg. And I'm so overwhelmed by all of the challendes you have for this year omg, but I'll encourage you to complete all of them! How was The Red Queen, would you recommend it?
ReplyDeleteYou should be a cheerleader for my categories hahaha! 'you can do it Natalie! Just one more Classic to go!'.
DeleteThe Red Queen was really good in my opinion! It's a bit slow at first but that's just the world-building and getting used to the story (as in most fantasy) but it's action packed and there were a lot of twists I didn't see coming so I would definitely recommend it!
You are doing well on your challenges! I loved All the Bright Places so much!
ReplyDeleteMissie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
Thank you! All the Bright Places was amazing - I can't stop thinking about it.
DeleteYou've read many good books! I really want to read Red Queen and To All The Boys I've Loved Before.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, good work on those challenge! :)
Tiffany @ The Bookish Thought
They're both stunning books! Definitely read them as soon as you get the chance :)
DeleteThank you!
*bullies you into reading more fairytales* If you need some good recommendations to get you in the mood, just shoot me a message on the blog, twitter or email! I'm more than happy to help you ;) but at the same time, I don't want people to feel forced to read books or to stress out over my challenge. It's all meant to be fun and easy :)
ReplyDeleteI think my main problem is that I don't really own any and when I go to buy them they're usually more expensive that I would like or I can't find them but I recently ordered Scarlet (I don't own Cinder but it was on sale) so hopefully seeing that will give me the kick I need to order some ;) And ACOTAR is out soon!!! I'M EXCITED FOR THAT!
