'A Letter To...' is a feature on this blog in which I address a post to someone or something that I want to share with readers of this blog.

Dear Fangirl,

First of all, I just want to say thanks. Thank you for being such a fantastic book. Truly. I've reread you probably three times and every time I read your pages I find something else to love about you. Whether it's a quote I had forgotten about or simply just a new trait to love in your characters, I fall harder each and every time.

Cath, you're incredible. Never forget that. Your mind is a palace filled with words, people and characters who love you. Do not doubt your writing. There will be times when you feel like you aren't good at it, and you will want to give up again. You will want to give up every time, but you won't. And every time you continue on writing, you will get better, it won't get easier, creating things is never 'easy' but remember that we rarely love beautiful things for their simplicity. Thank you for finding the dining hall but most of all thank you for reminding me that worrying about things such as where the dining hall is and being too afraid to ask is an issue that other people are faced with and that it can be solved. Thank you for being a self-proclaimed nerd. Thank you for never feeling pressured to go out when it isn't something you want to do. Thank you for making me love all of the things about you that I would consider a flaw in myself. Another thing, you and Levi are ADORABLE.

Levi. Levi, Levi, Levi. I have so much to say to you but I'm afraid that I'll never be able to fit it into one single post. I'm rooting for you, Levi. I've been rooting for you from the start, since our first meeting in Cath and Reagan's room. There was something about you that I knew I'd never be able to get enough of. Either it was your charming wit or your receding hairline but I just couldn't get you out of my head, neither could Cath, just FYI. I'm rooting for you to graduate college, I'm rooting for you to get Cath to finally open up her heart to you (fully) and I'm rooting for you to be happy. You were there when Cath needed you the most, even when you weren't sure she was talking to you, you were still there, Levi and sometimes that's all people need. Please continue to always be there for Cath when she needs you. No matter if you've had an argument or if you're miles away, try and be there because she needs to know you're rooting for her and much as she's rooting for you. Always encourage her to do the things she loves including you ay ayy whether that means she won't be able to see you for a few days because she's on a crazy writing spree or listening to her rant about how Gemma T. Leslie ended the Simon Snow series. You're a good guy, Levi. The best.

Lastly, Rainbow Rowell. Thank you for writing Fangirl. Thank you for creating Levi and Cath. I feel like you inhabited my body for a few days to create one of these characters and I completely fell in love with the other one. Your characters are real. They have flaws and their flaws make them so completely beautiful to me. They aren't like other characters who are perfectly groomed and who always say the right thing. Thank you for that.
