Taylor Swift Book Tag: Again.

Sunday 1 March 2015
Thanks to Kayla @ The Thousand Lives for tagging me! A while ago on this blog I did the Taylor Swift Book Tag and I had a whale of a time. Obviously, I'm here to do it again today. There's no real reason behind this except for the fact that I love Taylor Swift and I was tagged to do it again (it would just be rude of me to ignore the fact that I'd been tagged right?). I'm going to do the version that Kayla did (with the tracks from 1989) to change it up a bit. God, I'm excited.

A book where a character actually takes a journey away from home (bonus points if it's New York)

Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. I chose this book because Penny travels to New York for a holiday/work thing with her family and despite the controversy surrounding this book I did really enjoy it and give it 4 stars.
A crack book that you knew you would either love or hate

What's Left Of Me by Kat Zhang. I picked this book up for really cheap and the longer I had it on my bookshelf the more I managed to convince myself that I would hate it but in the end I thought it was a great story.
Best dressed couple on a cover

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare because Clary's dress is BEAUTIFUL. And the all black is always going to be a winner.
A book you were terrified to read for fear of hating it, but then fell in love

Switched by Amanda Hocking. I was excited to read this book when I brought it and then I found out it was about fae. I usually don't do well with books including fae but I really loved the beginning of this trilogy.
A couple with communication issues

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins. I loved this book to pieces but I do remember their lack of communication to be ridiculous and frustrating. Surely it couldn't be that hard to just TALK right?
A book you black sheep-ed hardcore for

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. In the midst of a thousand people saying that this was their favourite book out of the three and me finding Lola to be eternally irritating it's hard not to feel like a black sheep. Cricket might have been the only saving grace, and that fact that I have a huge weakness for 'next door neighbour' stories.
A book you put down, but hope to pick up again one day

The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I didn't like the book but I loved the movie (like I knew that I would) so I'd like to pick it up to continue on with the story but in all honesty I'm probably just going to have to skip on this series.
A book that tricked you into thinking it'd be fab, but it only caused rage

Where The Road Takes Me by Jay McLean. Judging by the synopsis this should've been a book that I'd ADORE. I didn't even end up finishing this book due to the characters falling in love after 10 pages. 10 PAGES. I can't even think about it without bubbling with fury.
Your favourite bad boy

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater because Ronan fucking Lynch everybody.
Your most anticipated release that you would give your soul for if you could have it now

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han, I would sacrifice my first born to have this book in my hands. Right now. PLEASE.
A love that stuck with you after you finished the book

Skin Deep by Laura Jarratt. I could choose so many for this one since a lot of books that I've read have impacted me in some way but Skin Deep is the one that really jumps out at me because it's such a poignant read and so beautiful. I read this when I was around 13 and I still think about it almost everyday. It's one of those that I've gotten almost every one of my friends to read because I think that everyone should read it and love it as much as I do.
A book where the characters had to hide their relationship

Losing It by Cora Carmack is a book about a teacher/student relationship. Pretty self-explanatory.
A book you would reread NOW

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I think I read this book 3 times last year. Nothing can compare to my love for this book (except maybe Bellarke). All of my friends are probably sick of hearing my talk about it over and over. Yet another one that I buy for all of my friends so that they have no choice but to read it whether they like contemporary or not.
A book you completely got lost in; the definition of book hangover in physical form

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas. I was still going through the book hangover from this book when I was in the middle of Heir of Fire. Such tough times.
The best friends-to-lovers book

To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han. Since I can't think of an actual 'best friends turned lovers' plotted story I'm going for this one because Peter K. and Lara Jean were friends before everything that happened, happened. It counts. Also I just really wanted a reason to put this book into this tag BECAUSE SERIOUSLY LOVE.
A book where the romance isn't the main focus

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. The synopsis/blurb is SERIOUSLY misleading in the best way.

  1. Awesome book tag! Don't you wish you could have things from your dreams (without any badness that might come with them)

    1. Oh yes! Like Derek Hale. That'd be something I'd LOVE to wake up to in the morning.

  2. So true, The raven cycle is almost about everything but romance xD
I finished reading another book yesterday called Akarnae and I was so glad it was about great and funny characters and friendship but NOT love! Definitely a nice change :3

  3. I ended up skipping the rest of the Maze Runner series too; the movies will be good enough for me :)

    *applause for Ronan Lynch*

    1. correction: Dylan O'Brien will be good enough for me ;)

(I just had to go back and check that I spelt Ronan Lynch right due to my continual habit of calling him 'Ronan Lunch' I guess I'm just perpetually hungry)
