TTT #10 - Ten Books I Plan To Have In My Beach Bag.

Tuesday 26 May 2015

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish. This a week that I'm really excited about - Which books are going to be in my Beach Bag. You want to know what my ideal beach read is? Contemporaries. HELL YEAH. Let's do it.

When it comes to beach reading I'm impartial to a good YA contemporary. The cheesier and the romancey-er(?) the better. Now, if I was going on holiday this year then this list would be overtaken by Nicholas Sparks novels but as that probably isn't the case I'm excited to share with you guys my Top Ten Beach Reads This Summer.

That Summer: Any Sarah Dessen novel will do actually. These are the types of books that I can devour in one sitting and won't regret a single moment of it. Buy Here.

My Life Next Door: I don't have a clue what this is about but the cover is gorgeous and I've been dying to get my hands on it since all of the hype blew up around it. Buy Here.

Amy and Roger's Epic Detour: Road Trip books are PERFECT for beach reading. Especially when they're written by Morgan Matson. Buy Here.

Second Chance Summer: It has 'summer' in the title and it's written by Morgan Matson, I think that's all I need to know. Buy Here.

Breathe, Annie, Breathe: Everyone who has read this seems to absolutely love it so who would I be if I didn't give it a shot. (I think it's a part of a series but I'm not sure if I need to read the books in publication order - please let me know!). Buy Here.

P.S. I Still Love You: This has been my most anticipated book of 2015 since I read To All The Boys in January so as soon as it hits shelves I'm going out, buying this baby and reading it. Buy Here.

99 Days:  Kayla over at The Thousand Lives said to me: 99 DAYS WILL PLEASE EVERYTHING IN YOUR FEMINIST HEART NATALIE. FOR REAL. So...I need to read it. ASAP. Buy Here.

Geek Girl: All That Glitters: I've been saving this for the summer. I don't own it yet, because I know that as soon as I buy it I'll need to read it. But I can't. I've promised myself. Buy Here.

Love, Lucy: It's set in Italy, I believe. That's all I need. Buy Here.

Biggest Flirts: Honestly, this book just sounds like something that I'd absolutely love and it looks like it'll make me laugh. What more could I ask for? Buy Here.

  1. My Life Next Door is AMAZING. I’ve read it twice now and it’s better the second time :D

Sidenote: The “summer” in Second Chance Summer doesn’t mean a lack of tears - the feels are strong in this one!

Breathe, Annie, Breathe was my first in the Hundred Oaks series, and it’s still my favorite! You don’t need to read it in publication order at all, unless you want to see all the connections between the characters from previous books.

YAAASSS MY WORK HERE IS DONE *celebrating*

    1. Ok I'm going to need to put My Life Next Door in the TBD order I'm making right now XD I don't NEED to buy more books but now I WANT to. Thanks, Kayla.

(I actually got Second Chance Summer the other day and now I'm nervous/even more excited to read it).

  2. I think I'm more of a fantasy kind of reader, but I am curious about a couple of the books from your list:

-99 days because I read the word feminist so I.AM.INTERESTED.
-Geek Girl, even though I don't know what it is about, but the cover is kind of cute, lol
-PS I Still Love You because I have heard good things about the first book so I definitely want to read it.

    Cute list :3

    1. I'm an even reader (between Fantasy and Contemporary) throughout the year I think but when it gets to summer I just CRAVE contemporary. Probably because I have the time to just fly through them.

Geek Girl is about a Geek, duh, who gets scouted for a modelling agency and she knows absolutely nothing about modelling so it's HILARIOUS. The type of book that you just want to read over and over again. So fun and easy.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU NEED TO READ TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE. YOU NEED TO. NEED TO. NOW.

  3. Cheesier, the better -- YES SO AGREE. A few summers ago I had all Nicholas Sparks books on my list and man they were good. There's definitely a formula to his novels but I GOBBLE IT UP. My favourites are still Message in a Bottle and A Walk to Remember. Both books I sobbed through.

AND YES READDD MORGAN MATSON PLEASE. She is the ultimate summer contemporary author.

Also asldfjladsjf I just got PSISLY right now and I am so excited to read it. I can't even tell you oh my god PETER AND LARA JEAN I'M SO READY.

    1. Yes! They can be so predictable but I love them all the same. My favourotes are A Walk To Remember, The Last Song and Safehaven probably. I haven't read Message in a Bottle yet but I should get to that soon.

I JUST GOT THE REST OF HER BOOKS SO I'M EXCITED IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR A MORGAN MATSON MARATHON.

I finished it the other day! OH MY GOD. I CRIED. AND LAUGHED. AND CRIED. AND WAS REALLY ANGRY. AND I CRIED EVEN MORE. AND THEN I JUST COULDN'T STOP HUGGING THE DAMN THING.
