Things I've Been Loving: February Edition

Tuesday 1 March 2016
Hello everyone and Happy March! February felt like it dragged on forever so I'm hoping that I'll have a lot more things to talk about this month, especially on the book front seeing as I got quite a few books in at the beginning of the month.

Book: Panic/All That Glitters
I finally got around to reading Panic by Lauren Oliver this month, thanks to my TBR Jar and I absolutely loved it. I loved the thrill that I felt when reading it and seeing all of the twists and turns play out as the book went on. And on the complete opposite end of the scale I also read and loved All That Glitters by Holly Smale and it reminded me of exactly why I love reading the Geek Girl books - they're just great fun!

Product: Peter Pan/My new scarf
I went to Bath during half term and while I was there I decided that we had to stop at a bookshop and in that bookshop I found the most beautiful edition of Peter Pan, which you may know is my favourite EVERYTHING. I will cherish this book forever it's that gorgeous. My mum also picked me up a new scarf that I have been in denial about needing for the past year (let's just say the scarf I'd been using was more than a little sad). It's so pretty and pastel and I absolutely love it.

Movie: Deadpool/Batman
I haven't watched a lot of movies this month but I did go and see Deadpool in the cinema and thought it was absolutely hilarious. I love Ryan Reynolds and the film did such a great job at not taking itself too seriously. I also watched Batman for the first time because I've caught the Gotham bug and The Joker is absolutely brilliant. I'm so excited to watch the rest of the movies in the franchise.

TV Show: Shadowhunters/Dance Academy
I did a bad thing and started to rewatch Dance Academy. I watched it either last year or a few years ago and fell down a great black hole that I now call home. I don't know what it is about the show that sucks me in but I love it. And Christian Reed. I've also been loving Shadowhunters, I love how cheesy and completely awful it is, it's just so compelling to me. I didn't fall in love with the books because they were the best literature I've ever read, I fell in love with them because they entertained me and that's exactly what the show is doing. I know a lot of people don't particularly like it but that's just my two cents. Also, Matthew Daddario is a good enough reason for me to watch the show anyway.

Music:
I haven't been listening to anyone in particular this month, it's been more of me listening to the songs that I love over and over again.

Event: Bath/Halsey
I visited Bath with my mum and my nan over half term and it was an absolutely beautiful city filled with so much history, I love exploring England's culture and Bath is absolutely filled with it. I also saw Halsey perform at Brixton this month which was amazing for so many reasons but also because I got to spend time with my friends who I don't see very often. You might have read my post in September about the two days we spent going to the Halsey shows but we decided to keep it a little more simple this time and perhaps stay a little more sober. Halsey was brilliant as she always is and the gig went way too fast.

  1. Is Panic a mystery/thriller? Because if so, I need it in my life. I am currently on the most massive mystery/thriller binge and I NEED ALL OF THEM.

I got a new scarf on the weekend! I have actually never WORN a scarf, so I have no idea what to do with it but it has cats on it, and they're pink and black, and it's the most adorable and perfectly me thing of ever.

I'm glad you liked Deadpool! I liked it because it was so different to all of the other superhero movies out there. Did you start with the old Batman, or Batman Begins? I love the Dark Knight trilogy. They are some of my favourite movies <3

I still haven't watched Shadowhunters *hides* I intend to, though! I can now get Netflix on my TV so I'm going to do a trial and binge watch the episodes :D

Can I live in England? So I can just visit all the gorgeous places?

    1. On goodreads it's labelled as a mystery although to me it wasn't very mysterious and just sort of thrill-seeking. Have you ever seen fear factor? Think that but with teenagers who have nothing to lose. There's also a few creepy elements that I really loved.

I am an admitted scarf addict! I have about two drawers filled with scarves and I'll wear one every day from september - may. The one you got sounds SO cute! I have one with a fox stretched out across the material and it's the cutest thing ever but really itches my neck which :(

Yes! It was a breath of fresh air amongst a theme that can so often be the same. I started with the old Batman! My TV doesn't have the Dark Knight trilogy and I want to be able to watch them in good quality.

It fluctuates between having good episodes and bad episodes that are only good because of Matthew Daddario.

Hahaha! Just be prepared to experience all seasons in one day!
