P.S. These are just my thoughts and opinions. I don't mean to offend anyone with my answers. (If you don't agree with something though, please feel free to yell at me in the comments because there's nothing more fun for me).
A Popular Book/Series You Didn't Like
The first one that pops into my head is Divergent by Veronica Roth. I loved the first book, I've actually read it around three times now but I have never managed to finish the second book. And then, after all of that, I was still wanting to read Allegiant until, that is, I was spoiled and now I just have no desire at all to read it.
A Book Series Everyone Hates But You Love
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater! I've read this trilogy many, many times through my pre-teen years and it's a series I hold dear to my heart. I'm scared to re-read again in fear that my opinion might change but I am very content just relishing in it's greatness for the rest of my life.
A Love Triangle Where The Main Character Ends Up With The Person You Didn't Want Them To End Up With
I always get angry when I think about this so I'm going to keep it short but: The Grisha Trilogy. WHY. JUST WHY.
A Popular Book Genre You Hardly Reach For
This is either going to be Historical Fiction or Dystopia. There are a few books that I've loved in these genres but they aren't the types of books that I usually gravitate towards straight away. Dystopia, for me anyway, just ends up feeling like it's been done 30,000 times before (which it probably has). The stories are predictable and a lot of the time just pretty boring.
Popular Beloved Character You Didn't Like
Lissa Dragomir from Vampire Academy. I'm still in the middle of reading these books but I am just not a huge fan of Lissa. She bores me and I think that Rose could just be so much better in every aspect if Lissa wasn't holding her back so much (although this isn't particularly Lissa's fault).
Popular Trope You Are Tired of Seeing
This one goes out to all of those contemporaries out there. WHERE ARE THE FAMILIES AT. All I see, everywhere I look, is broken families. Which, yes, are very common and it's nice to read about them from time to time but my god, it's like all of the mums and dads just collectively decided to up and leave their kids so they'd have something profound to learn later on in their life when they meet the love of their life. It's tiring. I'm over it.
Popular Series You Have No Interest In Reading
This would have to be the Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey. It looks cool and I'm glad that so many people have loved it but it just doesn't sound like something that I'd ever be interested in.
unpopular opinions are my favorite thing ever, which is why i'm so glad you did this tag! the grisha trilogy frustrates me because mal and alina too :/// UGH. LOVE THIS! (also i suck at commenting, which is why it's taken me so long to get to this)
ReplyDeleteI've got to be honest it was really fun doing this post.
