P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
Lara Jean didn't expect to really fall for Peter.
She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren't. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever. When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean's feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

Review:
I wanted, so badly, to not like this book. I can't explain it. The book's plot, with the love triangle, felt a lot like Jenny Han's Summer trilogy and while I enjoyed (loved) that trilogy, it wasn't something that I wanted from P.S. I Still Love You. So no, I loved this book but I didn't exactly like it either.

The reason I can't give this less than 4 stars is because I was, and still am, completely emotionally invested in the story and the character's lives. I think it shows something when although you're not enjoying the plot very much the book can still bring a few tears to your eye. I love Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky with all of my heart and I was rooting for them to pull it together and just show the other that they love them. Because they do. A lot.

The entire last page may have made up for the entire book, though. No regrets.

I read this book back in May so I can't distinctly remember the plot damn book amnesia so I can't, unfortunately, write a full review like I wanted to do. Instead this is going to be a bullet point review so you can get a gist of what I enjoyed about this book.

Likes:
  • Lara Jean is a little less immature in this one. She's gotten used to her big sister not being around and she has grown into her place as the adult in the house. It's quite refreshing to see Lara Jean take responsibility for her actions for once.
  • Lara Jean finally knows what she wants. Kinda.
  • It was still the same cute story that the first one was. The writing was still beautiful and I was still just as in love with Peter Kavinsky as I was the first time around.
  • 'Do you want to build a snowman?'
  • "Society is far too caught up in shaming a woman for enjoying sex and applauding a man. I mean, all of the comments are about how Lara Jean is a slut, but nobody's saying anything about Peter, and he's right there with her. It's a ridiculous double standard." I'd like to take this moment to both applaud Jenny Han and hug her for this beautiful, truthful piece of writing in a YA book.
  • The family dynamic is still incredible.
  • "You can break my heart. Do whatever you want with it" THE TEARS ARE REAL FOLKS.
Dislikes:
  • It honestly felt like Jenny Han was trying to make Peter the 'bad guy' for most of the book. My poor, beautiful little Peter is not the bad guy. He may say some things that don't make sense and make me shake my head in disbelief but he doesn't mean it. He's not slick like John Ambrose. He's just fumbling along trying to make do with what he as. My Peter, I love you.
  • The love triangle. It drove me crazy. Mostly because I knew that Lara Jean was going to end up with Peter in the end but she can still be a bit stupid sometimes. Maybe she'd go for the guy who says all the right things, who knows?
  • It's not TATBILB. I don't think you can get any better than TATBILB. Sorry.
I just really love Peter Kavinsky, ok?

  1. Peter Kavinsky is fantastic <3 But so is John Ambrose McClaren! I love him so much I want one.

But really did you HAVE to show me the "You can break my heart" quote?? I WAS FINALLY OKAY AFTER THAT

    1. I feel like John Ambrose is a GREAT character/boy/person in general but I just can't love him because he's not PETER KAVINSKY. Everyone pales in comparison to Peter Kavinsky.

I'm never going to be okay after that quote.

I'm excited for you to have this because Bob maps out... how men think! ...and...When you understand their thinking process

You'll understand your man's very weird behavior.

    See...you might already suspect...

What a guy REALLY wants...and what he says...are two different things!
